Death Notice (Sarah Jane)

WAITS, W. T., MRS. -- Died Sunday at the family residence on College Street after a lingering illness of several months. She was nearing her 69th birhtday. Funeral services were to be held at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. M. L. Hamilton. Interment will follow at the City Cemetery. She is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters, all of whom were with her when the end came: Hugh, Leser, Willie, Jess, Burt, Rufus, and Mrs. Ewell Melton. She is also survived by the following brother and sisters: J. W. Shook, this city, M. C. Shook, Terrell, Mrs. Betty Long, this City, and Mrs. Mollie Prim, Wynnwood, Oklahoma. Mrs. Waits was born in Hopkins County and was the daughter of Rev. W. A. Shook, pioneer Methodist preacher of Hopkins.

Death Notice (Hugh)

Hugh Waits -- Dead - After an illnes of several weeks, Hugh Waits, passed away at the home of his brother, Lester Waits, where he had made his home for several years. He was 49 years of age and had been afflicted since birth. He was a twin brother of Mrs.Lena Melton of Dallas and a brother to Lester, Bert, Jess and Bill Waits of Sulphur Springs and Cleorah Waits Coffey and Martha Leona Waits Norris both of Dallas. Funeral Services were at 2:30 pm Thursday with interment in Sulphur Springs city cemetery.
