All family tree entries in Ancestry.com have the middle name as William; however, the heading for a Hunt County, Texas newspaper records Vivian Josephine (Shook) Vernon as the daughter of Thomas Wilson Shook (search for Vivian Josephine Shook Hunt County). Since that is the only record of his middle name, I am recording the given name as Thomas Wilson.
