Given Name
In the 1860 census, Elzira's given name was indexed as Elzina M. E. Closer inspection of the census record shows the name as Elzira. This census record is the only document that has all three of Elira's names with two of those names as initials. Other census records either record Elzira's name as Mary or Mary E., probably her second and third names. in Eva (Lawrence) Allen's death certificate, Elzira is recorded as Emilee and on Ruby Kate Lawrence's death certificate she is recorded as Mollie (a common nickname for Mary). Although Mary (or Mollie) seems to be the most common name for Elzira, I have decided to record her name as Elzira Mary Emilee based on the first (1860) census record, the placement of Mary before E. on the 1870 and 1910 census records, and the name Emilee on Ruby's death certificate.

The 1880 census records Lee as a male / son; however, I believe that was probably an incorrect assumption by the person recording this family. The headstone for Lee reads "Lillian Lee Dau of J & E M E Lawrence". Mary's mother, Emily, is buried in this cemetery, as well as her husband John and her other daughter Eva. In the 1860 census, Mary is recorded as Elzira M. E. Shook, which correlates with the E.M.E. initials on the headstone.
