Obituary (Lela)

Monticello - Lela Wilkes Shook, 84, of Monticello, died Thursday at Drew County Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of O. J. Shook, Sr.

Mrs. Shook was born in Lincoln County. She lived most of her life in Monticello.

She was a charter member of the Paulme Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors are four sons, Milford Shook of Corsicana, Texas, Alfred Shook of East Point, Georgia, O. J. Shook, Jr. of North Little Rock, and Glenn Shook of Witchia, Kansas; a daughter Mrs. Selma Crook of Monticello, two brothers, Rodney Stewart of Monticello and Darwin Stewart of McGehee, a sister, Mrs. Dorie Binns of Little Rock, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were at 2 p.m. today at the Stephenson Funeral Home by Reverend Franklin Shepard. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery here.
