MRS. SHOOK'S SERVICES HELD WEDNESDAY

A former Cogar, Okla. resident, Mrs. Martha E. Shook, 94, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Akins, 113 SW 37 in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Shook was born in Tennessee and lived near Cogar since 1906 until two years ago when she moved to Oklahoma City. Her husband J. B. Shook preceded her on death February 20, 1941.

Survivors include three sons, John, Hydro; Sam, Las Cruses, N. Mex., and L. B,. Denver, Colorado; four daughters, Mrs. Nora Fellows, Choctaw, Mrs. Clarence Phelps, Minco, Mrs. Julia Smith and Mrs. Ida Alice Akins both of Oklahoma City; one sister, Roxie McClure living in North Carolina, 27 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday in the Cogar Methodist church with Rev. J.J. McDaniel officiating Pallbearers were Bob Kelly, J. L. Sanders, Julian Phelps, John Fowler, George Beard and Bob Slover.

The songs "Beyond the Sunset" "When I Walk up the Streets of Gold, How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" were sung by Mrs. Herman Randall, Mrs. John Fowler, Mrs. Julian Phelps, Mrs. Carl Wilson, Shrum Lee and Floyd Buchanan. Burial was in the Hazel Dell cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home in charge.
