Theodrick's name is spelled a variety of ways. Originally, I thought his name was Theodorick; however, Theodrick is the name on in his death certificate (Arthur Oscar Shook, his son, as the informant) and the name used as the father of Joseph Webster Shook, Sr. (Bessie (Briscoe) Shook, his wife, as the informant). Hence, I am using Theodrick as his given name. Janet Smith's family sheet for the Josiah Webster Shook family spells his name as "Theodnick" (yet another variation).

Obituary

Funeral services for Theodric Shook, 82, of Baytown, who died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in a Houston hospital, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Paul U. Lee funeral home in Goose Creek. Rev. E. R. Couch, pastor of the Baytown Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Bayou Methodist Cemetery.

Mr. Shook is survived by three sons, J. W. Shook of Conroe, C. D. Shook of Paterson, A. O. Shook of Baytown, four daughters, Mrs. A. R. Eichelberger of Dayton, Mrs. W. J. Notes

Theodrick was born in Texas, probably in Harris County (but maybe Bell County), and lived until he was 81. Theodrick's death certificate records him as a farmer for 50 years (retiring when he was about 66). It also records Theodrick as being divorced with Mary Mollie Charpiot as his wife (however, census records indicate that Theodrick had a second wife, Emma Frances McWhorter.)
