Jay Martin Shook

Jay Martin Shook, 93, of 1710 City View Drive died Thursday at a Wichita Falls nursing home.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Owens &

Shook was born July 4, 1894 in Statesville, N.C., and had lived in Wichita Falls since 1921. He was a retired farmer. He was a charter member of City View Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War I in France.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Anna; three sons. Dale of Wichita Falls, Ralph of Baton Rouge, La., and Clarence of Hastings, Okla.; a daughter, Velma Johnson of Wichita Falls; a sister, Suma Dill of Cross Plains, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren.

Mary Anna Shook

Mary Anna Shook, 91, died Thursday in her Wichita Falls home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey McMurray officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Shook was born May 4, 1904 in May, Texas. She and Jay M. Shook were married Nov. 23, 1919 in Brownwood, Texas. He died Jan. 28, 1988. She was a homemaker and had lived in the City View area since 1920. She was the last surviving charter member of City View Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher at the church. She was also a charter member of City View Home Demonstratin Club.

Survivors include three sons, Dale of Wichita Fallas, Ralph of Baton Rouge, La., and Clarence of Hastings, Okla.; a daughter, Velma Johnson of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Lillie Albers of Belton, Texas, and Leo Gossett of Palestine, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
