Mrs. Bonner Dies at Home At Age of 78
Mrs. R. B. Bonner, 78, wife of retired Methodist Minister R. B. Bonner and a resident of Dallas for twenty-six years died Wednesday morning at her home, 3421 Asbury.
She had been active in church work throughout her life and was a member of the Fellowship Class and Women's Society of Christian Service at the Highland Park Methodist Church, Mexican Mission and C. C. Young Home.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Cox Chapel of Highland Park Methodist Church. Dr. Marshall T. Steel, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Terrell.
Mrs. Bonner, the former Miss Lula Shook, was born Nov. 4, 1873, in Sulphur Springs. Seven years later she moved to Terrell. On Nov. 4, 1896, she married Bonner and they lived in several places in Texas before coming to Dallas in 1926.
Surviving are her husband and five sisters, who live in Terrell. Mrs. D. M. Purvine, Mrs. Wick Hardin, Mrs. Ed Phillips, Miss Nina Shook and Miss Willie Shook.
Pallbearers will be Clark Etheridge, Allen Melton, Fred Porter, Arthur Rubey, Haynes Ownby, Tom Archer, Dr. John Bradfield, Clifford Ownby and William Shappard.

Rev. R. B. Bonner, Methodist Cleric, Dies at Age 89
The Rev. R. B. Bonner, 89, a member of the Northwest Texas Methodist Conference for 67 years, died Tuesday morning in his home, 3421 Asbury, after a short illness.
Born in Troy Tenn., he came to Texas in 1887 and was ordained in 1892. During his active ministry he had churches throughout West Texas. He retired 35 years ago and had been a Dallas resident since then. His wife, Lula Shook of Terrell, died in 1951.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Cox Chapel of the Highland Park Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, with Dr. Fred Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Terrell.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
