Notes

Reginald Lee Shook is buried in the same cemetery (Forest Lawn Memorial Park) as Thornton Emmett Shook (my grandfather's half-brother). Out of curiosity, I did some research on Reginald to see if he was related to anyone I am tracking. Interestingly, Ancestry.com (Hooe Family Tree) has Reginald as an descendent of Johanne George Shook, and, subsequently, I was able to tie that research to Johanne Hans George Shook. Before reviewing the Hooe Family Tree, I had not done much research on Johanne George Shook. So this was a good lead. Two other Shooks, Eulis Thad (E. Thad) Shook (20-MAY-1931 - 29-NOV-2006) and wife Mary, are also buried in this cemetery. Eulis was born in Caddo, Caddo County, Oklahoma and died in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas. He doesn't appear to be related to anyone I am tracking (although his line starts with Joseph Lawrence Shook in North Carolina).

In Ancestry.com, one profile (the only one) for Charlsie Beatrice Wheeler has her married to Otis Wayne Hancock with a child (as a private entry). There is a directory entry in the 1937 Beaumont, Texas directory for Otis M. Hancock and Beatrice Hancock. I have not been able to find a document tying a child to Charlsie Beatrice and Otis Wayne Hancock. To make things even more confusing, there is an Otis Wayne Hancock and an Otis Mathis Hancock in Jefferson County, Texas around that time period. Since Reginald was not married and still living with his mother in the 1940 census, it is possible that Charlsie married a Hancock as her first husband.
