Notes

A posting on Genforum reads: "Erasmus Collier was my great great great grandfather. His daughter Amanda Evelene married Thomas A. Sanders on May 15, 1855. Erasmus was a member of the 5th Texas Legislature. Amanda and Thomas married in grimes county, Texas. In 1857 they had a son, also named Thomas A.. I do not know what happened to Thomas A. Sanders sr., as Amanda is back in the home of her mother in 1860. Thomas A. Sanders Jr. married Martha A. Dobson on October 13, 1877 in San Jacinto County, Texas. To this union was born nine children. Arthur Barnett Sanders, which is my paternal grandfather married Sarah J. Roach Howell. I believe Arthur is the eldest of their children. He was born October 12, 1878, however his death record says 1872 and died on May 21, 1962. To this union was born 8 children. My dad and his little sister were adopted out after Sarah passed away on March 28, 1953. They were adopted by their first cousins, Edith E. Sanders and Wilkie Eugene Bentley. Edith was the daughter of John D. Sanders, Arthur's younger brother. I hope this helps. If you have additional information, I would be willing to share what I have, if you will share what you have. Erasmus also served as sheriff of Montgomery County, appraiser of estates and others."
