In the 1810 U.S. Federal Census, no Shook families were living in Ohio (yet). Based on his headstone and two of the three census records (1860 and 1880), Saul Francis was born circa 1816 somewhere in Ohio. By 1820 U.S. Federal Census, however, there are 19 Shook families living in Ohio. Since this census only records the head of the family, Saul could have been the son of any one of these 19 families. By the 1850 U.S. Federal Census, Saul Francis is found in Galena, Jo Daviess County, Illinois where he apparently lived until his death in 1884.

On Ancestry.com, researchers have assumed that is Warren in Trumbull County, Ohio (or have information I have not found). Yet, there are two towns called Warren in Ohio. One in Trumbull County and one in Tuscarawas County, Ohio.
John Richard Shook was born in Warren, Ohio in 1837. That means Saul Francis Shook moved from Trumball County, Ohio to Jo Daviess County, Illinois between 1837 and 1850. Trumball County, Ohio is on the Eastern edge of Ohio and butts up against Pennsylvania, which is where Charlotte Cox was born.
