Jordan David "J. D." Shook, age 88, died Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Seton Hospital.

Mr. Shook was born November 24, 1913, in Temple, Bell County, Texas. He was the son of Garner Jordan Shook and Maggie Bell Richardson Shook.

Mr. Shook served in the U.s. Army in World War II, and was employed by the Southland Corporation in Austin, for 33 years. He was a member of the Highland Village Church of Christ.

Mr. Shook was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Shook; granddaughter, Dawn Tabor, and great-grandson Quinten Hazelwood.

He is survived by his son, Wayne Shook of Jonestown; daughter Rosalie Etheredge and husband Jack of Kent, Washington; grandchildren, Scarlett Krane and husband Ed of Cleveland Ohio, and Brett Tabor of Austin; great-grandchildren Jene Seal of Rockfort, Illinois, and John Krane of Cleveland, Ohio, niece, Donna Chapman of Corpus Christi, great-nieces Lisa Delao and Paige Najvar, both of Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002, in the Colonial chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home with Minister Rick Laing of Highland Village Church of Christ officiating. Interment services will follow at Austin Memorial Park.

Story

Jordan David Shook was the youngest child of Garner Jordan Shook and Maggie Bell Richardson Shook. He married Frankie Annette Rogers on June 7, 1937, in Gilmer, Upshur Co., Texas. They had two children, Rosalie Ann, and Floyd Wayne.

"J. D." as he was known by, was a manager for the Southland Corporation for many years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in WWII. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was survived by his two children, 3 grand children, and 2 great- grandchildren.
