Death Notice (Dwight Charles)
BURLINGAME - Graveside services will be Thursday at Burlingame Cemetery for Dwight Charles Doty, 88, Hutchinson, who died Monday in a Hutchinson nursing home where he had been since 1968.
He was born Sept. 22, 1884 at Burlingame where he spent his early life. He lived at Kansas City before he moved to Hutchinson.
He was assistant paymaster at the Corn Products Refinery at Kansas city before he retired. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, George A. Doty, Beaumont, Tex. Carey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements at Burlingame. Johnson and sons Funeral Home is in charge of Hutchinson arrangements.

Notes
Eliza's death certificate records her father as Hugh Aaron Austin. Eliza and her older brother, Wallace Thomas, are both incorrectly indexed in the 1900 census as Shool (rather than Shook). The census clearly records Wallace, Eliza, and the other Shook siblings as step-sons or step-daughters. Jeff. D. Shook is recorded as the father of Wallace Thomas Shook, Sr. Based on the sibling relationship on the 1900 census and the same surname (whilst incorrectly indexed) leads to a conclusion that Jeff D. Shook is Eliza's father rather than her step-father Hugh Aaron Austin. Yet, Eliza named her son George Austin Doty. A clear sign of affection for the Austin name. Perhaps Hugh adopted Eliza (or he was a great step-father).
