Death Notice
TEXAS COMPANY WORKER KILLEDSidney Patin Crushed Under Heavy Conveyor
Sidney Patin, aged 43, was crushed to death at 8:30 o'clock this morning when a brick conveyor fell on him at the Texas Company Refining plant where he was employed as labor foreman.
Patin was engaged in moving the conveyor, which is about 30 feet long and weighs several hundred pounds, to a new location. His feet slipped, according to information given to Fred P. Dodge, superintendent of the Texas Company, who investigated the accident, throwing his body under the platform. He was extricated by fellow workmen. Artificial respiration at the emergency room failed to revive him.
Patin's chest was crushed by the heavy weight and he died within 15 minutes after the accident, never regaining consciousness.
Patin resided at 848 Seventh.
He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Gussie, Eula, Wilda and Irene; two sons, Maxie and Chester, all of Port Arthur; three brothers, Emile and Richard Patin of Port Arthur and Francis Patin of Lafayette, La.; and five sisters, Mrs. Daisy Breaux, Lake Charles; Mrs. Henry Sidney, DeQuincy, La.; Mrs. Rose Whittington, Lafayette, La.; and Mrs. Lizie Olivier, Lafayette.
Funeral services, while not complete, will be held Thursday from St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 a.m.

Ellen is recorded as Lelia. Court listed Eraste Sydney as widowed, but not Lelia (Laf Ct. Hse. #8267).
Sidney is listed in the Port Arthur City Directory in 1916. So he was living in Port Arthur by the 1920 Census; however, I have been unable to locate Sidney et al in the 1920 Census.
