Obituary (Raymond Edward)
Raymond E. Parker, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at his home in Baytown. He was born August 18, 1919, in Hufsmith, Texas, to William Henry Parker, Sr. and Fannie Rachael (Oliver) Parker. After moving to Baytown in the third grade, Mr. Parker attended Baytown Elementary, David G. Burnett Elementary, Baytown Junior High, Robert E. Lee High School, where he graduated in 1937, Lee College, and University of Houston. He was employed by Humble Oil and Refinery Company for forty-one years, with the last twenty-seven years as a supervisor. Mr. Parker was also employed at one time by Brown & Root, A. Grenader's Food Market, and a contractor who built the gymnasium for Baytown Junior High School. During World War II, he proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps in numerous places in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio and London, England.
On May 15, 1947, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Merle Stovall. Always interested in most spectator sports, he played basketball, baseball, golf, and softball. He also bowled in the City League for a number of years. He was a loyal son and brother, a loving husband and father, and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dixie Opal Parker Fritch and Emma Parker, and six brothers, Mose Oliver Parker, William Henry Parker, Jr., Pleasant Parker, Wesley Parker, Edgar Parker and Venton Clifton Parker; and granddaughter, Julie Michelle Plato. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Marjorie Stovall Parker; daughter, Michael Dianne Parker Plato and husband, Richard; grandson, Richard Kelly Plato and wife, Tina; two great-granddaughters, Kelly Paige Plato, Parker Michelle Plato; and countless friends and family who will miss his presence in their lives.
The family will receive friends at Crespo & Jirrels on Friday, December 4, 2009, from 4 – 6 p.m. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009, in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels, Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. A burial will be held prior to the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Obituary (Grace (Garrett) Parker)
Mrs. Grace Garrett Parker, 94, of Tomball, Texas, passed away August 27, 2013, in a Tomball assisted living center. She was born October 8, 1918, in Houston, Texas, to Roland Garrett and Josie Arnold. She was raised in IOOF and Rebekah’s Home for Widows and Orphans in Corsicana, Texas, from December 8, 1932. Mrs. Parker graduated from the orphanage in 1937, and continued to be close to and remembered those who still lived there. She rarely missed the opportunity to attend homecoming to visit her brothers and sisters at this self-contained “Beautiful Home.” After Mrs. Parker graduated, she lived with a foster father, Porter B. Rawson, until her marriage to Mose Parker in 1941. Later, she and her husband took care of Mr. Rawson in their home until his death.
