Obituary

Novetta Marie Farrar, 71, of Waco, died Sunday, Jan 29, 2001. Services will be at 2:30 pm on Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday at BrookView Funeral Home.

She was born January 26, 1930, in Wortham, TX to Cecil and Mary Keaton Shook. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Farrar in 1975 and husband, Richard Farrar in 1983.

Novetta was devoted to her church, First United Methodist of Waco, and served for many years as a volunteer receptionist. She attended Sunday School and Church on a regular basis and was well loved by those surrounding her. She always had a big smile and hug for anyone who wanted one.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Barnett and husband, Ron of Waco, brother, Cecil G. Shook of El Centro, CA; sister, Vancille Kellogg of Waco; grandchildren, Jeff Barnett and wife, Mellissa of Fort Wayne, IN., Allison Barnett and Megan Barnett, both of Waco; and great-granddaughter, Grace Barnett of Fort Wayne, IN.
