Notes
Almost every entry on Ancestry.com related to Lucinda (Lusk) Shook Reynolds has her husband as David Parker Shook, Jr. (03-AUG-1822 - 12-AUG-1902). Yet there is no documentation that connects Lucinda Lusk to David Parker Shook, Jr. Every document I have reviewed records David Shook. I believe someone on Ancestry.com decided that was David was David Parker Shook, Jr. and everyone has copy-pasted that assumption. In fact, if you follow Lucinda carefully it looks like her David Shook probably died sometime before 1870 (as she is found with a daughter and no husband in the 1870 census). Since Lucinda remarried in 1874, either David had died or Lucinda and David had divorced. David Parker Shook, Jr., on the other hand, lived until 1902 being born in North Carolina, dying in North Carolina, and, apparently, never leaving North Carolina. According to cencus records, David and Lucinda Shook produced children in North Carolina, Indiana, and Kentucky.
