In the first Pate Cemetery association minutes, there was an entry for Mr. and Mrs. James Sallas. So although James' spouse has not been identified, he did have a spouse in 1976. Texas marriage records indicate James married Rhonda Dyer in 2002. So that is probably a later marriage. James would have been 25 years old at the time of the association meeting in 1976.
