Mrs. Lillian M. Ryan. Mrs. Lillian M. Ryan, 79, of 722 N. 13th Street., died Monday at St. Elizabeth's Nursing Home, 107 E. Reservoir Av. Born in Milwaukee, she was the daughter of Martin T. McLaughlin, former superintendent of the House of Correction. Her husband, the late William M. Ryan, was a superintendent with the Railway Express Agency in Milwaukee. Surviving are four sons, Jerome M., MIlwaukee; Martin T., St. Louis, and William J. and Francis R., both of Chicago, and a daughter, Miss Lillian Ryan, Milwaukee. Mrs. Ryan was a member of the Happy Death and Christian Mothers Societies of Gesu Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Brett Chapel. 2001 W. Wisconsin Av., and at 10:15 a.m. at Gesu Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

William Ryan Is Dead HereFuneral Is Thursday
William M. Ryan, 77, of 722 N. 13th St., retired superintendent of the southern Minnesota-South Dakota division of the American Railway Express Co., died Monday at Misericordia hospital after a long illness. Mr. Ryan was born in Whitewater, Wis., and attended grade, high and normal school there. In 1910 he joined the Adams Express co. in Whitewater. From 1900 to 1911 he lived in Milwaukee as cashier for the Adams Co., which later was consolidated with the American Railway Express Co.
Mr. Ryan held positions with the company in several cities in this area and served in Milwaukee several times. He retired in 1938 after 48 years in the express business and returned to Milwaukee to make his home here permanently.
Mr. Ryan was a brother of the late Msgr. James F. Ryan, a former pastor of St. John's cathedral here.
With his wife, Lillian, who survives him, Mr. Ryan celebrated his golden wedding anniversary in October, 1945.
Mr. Ryan was a member of the Holy Name society of the church, St. Thomas Aquinas court No. 1157, COOF and the Traffic club of Chicago.
He is also survived by four sons, Martin, St. Louis, Mo.; William and Francis, Chicago, and Jerome, Milwaukee; a daughter, Miss Lillian Ryan, Milwaukee; two sisters, Anne and Veronica Ryan, both of Milwaukee, and a brother, Daniel, Beloit, Wis.
Funeral services will be held at the O'Boyle funeral home, 1214 W. Wisconsin av., at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and Gesu church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
