Notes
I originally made this connection from MaryAnn Hormuth's pedigree sheet. However, on January 18, 2004, when visiting the cemetery, I met Harold's widow visiting his grave. Apparently, she was visiting her step-daughter (as the younger woman introduced herself) from Colorado. Irene said that her and Harold had spent most of their lives in an old mining town in Colorado. She said that they loved the mountains, and to emphasize her point she showed us (Jerry Vessels, Dennis Shook, and Dean Shook) the back of Harold's headstone, which had an engraving of mountains, bears, and such. She said that Harold had been sick for a couple of years before he died.
