Notes

Note 1

Victoire Borel was born on 16-MAR-1773 at Pointe Coupee. She was the daughter of Pierre Borel and Catherine Toupard. Victoire Borel married Pierre Etier, son of Pierre Etier and Catalina Baudoin, on 04-NOV-1794 at St. James. Victoire Borel died on 07-SEP-1839 at New Iberia at age 66. Her estate was probated on 14-OCT-1839 at St. Martinville.

Note 2

The death date of 1821 does not seem accurate, as all of his children were born after that date. The date is probably 1841, since the last child was born about 1839. It seems pretty clear in the 1850 U.S. Census that Pierre is dead by then, as Claire is recorded with many children. It is unclear if these are all her children or some / all step-children.

Note 3

I think the confusion may be associated with the father and son being Pierre. I'm thinking that one of the wifes is with the father and the other wife is with the son. If you assume that the first wife is with the father, then the death date of 1821 would make sense.
