Obituary (Margaret)
Margaret Milby Shook, 98, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview Cemetery in Plainview. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Shook was born in Austin and graduated from Austin High School and the University of Texas. She married Raymond Shook in 1927. They moved to Lubbock, where she was a longtime resident, in 1930 when Mr. Shook opened the first Shook Tire Co. location.
She was a member of St. Paul on the Plains Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild for 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1948; and a son, Raymond Shook Jr. in 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Neely and husband, Jeff M. Neely Jr.; six grandchildren, Jeff M. Neely III, Megan Neely Lewis and Paige Neely Mills, all of Amarillo, and Sharon Shook Carlen, Stacey Shook Hill and Soeurette Shook Kelly, all of San Antonio; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Paul on the Plains Altar Guild, 1510 Avenue X, Lubbock, TX 79401; or Gideons International, P.O. Box 2034, Amarillo, TX 79105; or a favorite charity.
